Finally - Official HTC Firmware update released today 12th September

Hi guys

Looks like today is the day, rumours abound that yesterday in Nordic countries the HTC Hero update was released

And its rumoured it will hit European servers today!!!

Personally as I am running MoDaCo 2.0 custom ROM I will wait a few days for another custom ROM based on this update.. No doubt another will surface, but for those not interested in rooting their Hero and going 'official' then today should be an early Christmas day for you

If you want to stay COMPLETELY official then yes. Otherwise I really doubt this will void warrantee, it just won't come with provider specific apps/features.

Will this new update work will branded T-Mobile phones though? I heard that you need an unlocked phone to update it using the firmware, but if your phone is locked to T-Mobile you have to wait for them to implement it then update it.

Indeed, the update is only available in their Nordic support page (HTC Hero Nordic Update - 2.73.405.5), but not in the "world/English" support site. So I guess this means we need to wait just a tad more for them to make the Enlgish file available.

I'm too, desperate for them to realease it already.

I'm only interested if they add a few more features - but to be honest I have no idea what I'd want them to add.

My device is perfect after I rooted and flashed.
