Root Finally rooted my phone and some questions

It wasn't really complicated procedure...
but, I took kinda long to finish all I wanted to do.
probably cuz it was first time to messing with root :)

I rooted, and then backup with cwm.
flashed DJ05 radio, then backup & data wipe when I flash DJ05 system/rom
and flashed DJ05 kernel.
flashed super dark rom and stupidfast kernel (both for DJ05)
installed LP and had fun for a while
played with setCPU, enabled profile which has max 200mhz min 100mhz when screen is off. and it freezes.... so pulled battery to turn it on. erased setCPU profile. also had problems with google search bar.. so installed ADW EX and it has no problem so far.
I was just too lazy and scared to root my phone for 2-3 months. :P

I have some questions
When I run ADW EX, touchwiz is always running at the same time?
I used home button to switch launcher and checked default on ADW EX. What if I uninstall touchwiz? there's going to be a problem if I do that?
Can I even uninstall it..?
So, confusing o.O

And, was it okay to do data wipe after I flashed DJ05 radio?
I'm not sure if I had to do wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache partition in clockworkmod recovery before flash DJ05 radio.
but, my brother said it's okay to do data wipe when I flash DJ05 system/rom after radio. I was able to do both backup rom and data wipe when I install DJ05 system/rom on rom manager.

oops.. became longer story I thought.. sry :O

Everything sounds good. As for touchwiz it will run in background. Adw seems to work a lil better than some others with tw behind it but tw can still cause lag. Take a look at this:

I have been reading about rooting. I do not mean to hijack your post in any way. Just wondering what is the difference between DJ05 kernel and DJ05 radio. And what does flashing it mean?
Is there a dictionary for these terms? lol

Why are there two? Im really new to this and have been trying to take it all in.

A radio is the modem. A kernel is like the brain. And a rom is like the body.

WOW ok I rooted droid 1 but have not this phone yet. How much of this was done through rom manager if any???
 
I mistyped kernel instead of system/rom in last paragraph..

so order was radio - data wipe & system/rom - kernel

was it okay? dont have to data wipe before install radio?

Most people.didn't wipe.data.before dj05 and were fine....i always do before roms....but that's me. :)

The order of rom/kernel/radio doesn't seem to matter but radio first is generally the preferred order....i do recommend wiping cache before flashing a kernel however...but its not the.end of the.world.if you.dont

Setcpu.profiles and our phones don't seem to play nice...,so my.advice in general is to avoid setcpu for.regular use

Follow davids advice and remove touchwiz if you don't plan on using it...,most of us say bye to it quickly ;)

My advice is to read through all of the topics in friscos root.sticky at the top of this forum...,root can be a lot to take in and its bests to buckle.down and read up on it as much as you can

Its best to prepared because while in general jts fairly straightforward...,its still a serious undertaking
 
Hmm... I'm not sure if I can say goodbye to TW as david posted a link.
because, FC keeps occuring with Facebook auto-sync..
and I use Facebook many times with my phone.

I use facebook with my phone many times a day. The only thing you lose is auto sync. I think that just clicking on the facebook icon/widget whatever you prefer is much worth it to take away lag. Imo if you are going to keep tw because you can't live without fb auto sync I would use adw. Adw seems to preform a lil smoother with tw running under it. But if you do drop tw then launcher pro seems to run better. But remember opinions are like...

I'm already running ADW and its facebook widget doesn't have manual refresh button I think.. TW stock widget had that button so I used to refresh manually.

do you mean click on facebook button and open a full screen facebook browser to refresh it everytime?

hmm I prefer using facebook with widget on homescreen than open full facebook browser

and do you have to turn off auto-sync in phone setting or just check on never for refresh interval setting on facebook?

I just click on fb in app drawer, then I can also see notifications.
Turn off auto sync
