finally upgraded phone/pda (after subconsciously smashing my old htc xv6800 into the ground).

chose the droid thunderbolt.

am frustrated by challenges trying to get previously taken for granted Microsoft sync options with Office to work now (i.e. cant get all of my email folders to show on phone, cant get my pc to see/believe the storage card is in phone despite it seeing the drive, etc, etc, etc).

just a guy with a cool phone and a pc. so am looking for simple/cheap/non-exchange server solutions.

was told by soooooooooooooo many people to stay away from Windows 7 as it was soooooooooooooooo far behind and not as user friendly (anymore). Ultimately, it came down to the phone features when i chose the phone. so, here i am searching for answers in a hope to not want to smash the droid world into the ground.

thank you.

Welcome to the Android Forums!

If you are looking for a way to sync your phone with a local Outlook client (as opposed to MS Exchange), you'll need to consider third party apps like Companion Link. What you'll find is most smartphone technologies are moving away from the legacy activesync model of sync'ing to a local email. Last I heard this capability is no longer in Windows Phone 7 either...

With respect to the SD card it's not unusual for Android phones to unmount their SD cards when connected to a PC via USB. The best way to overcome that is to remove the SD card from the phone and to directly connect to your PC via a SD card slot...
