Finally!!

I have lived in a dead zone for 11 years. Finally got through to the VZW rep who didn't feel that I should have to BUY a network extender to use the service that I have been paying for. Network extender is on its way -- no charge.

Now I can finally upgrade my daughter's phone. I didn't want to upgrade any of our lines so that we could wait for the contracts to end and change providers. I'd rather not switch since the VZW network is really good everywhere else.

Apparently my house is equidistant from 5 different towers and our phones can't figure out what to lock onto so we end up with no signal at all.

Usually there is a nice rep out there in Verizon, you just have to have the luck of the draw haha.

It's here and it works perfectly! I successfully made a phone call from my house for the first time in 11 years. Does anyone know ... I have wifi turned on. If I turn it off, would the phone use my data allowance (share plan) or would it not count because it's connected to my cable modem. I tried turning it off and said I was roaming.

I am pretty sure it will count against your data limit even thought it seems like it shouldn't.

Probably. Wifi is about 10x faster anyway so I always use it at home and have the family trained to do the same.

I have a real dilemma, in that since I now have 4G at my house, its actually faster than my Wi-fi. Almost twice as fast. I usually switch to wi-fi just for the battery life though.
