I'm new to Android and am trying to get apps like Amazon mp3 and beebplayer. When I typr these into search on Market place I get hundreds of obscure apps I don't want and not the ones I do want. Does anybody know how to find things on market place or elsewhere without all the tosh?

What country are you in? Amazon MP3 is, inexplicably, unavailable outside the US. Beebplayer no longer exists (AFAIK) since BBC launcher their own iPlayer app which is (more explicably) only available in the UK.
Market links:

https://market.android.com/details?id=bbc.iplayer.android
Edit: it might be just the cloud bit of amazon mp3 that doesnt work outside the US. Give it a try.
