Root Firefox for Android app problem

mooreapi

Newbie
Anybody else who flashed AA getting the message from Google Play store that our device is not supported for the Firefox for Android app?

The app worked fine on my stock ROM phone, but once I rooted and flashed over to Awesome Android (incl. updates 1, 2, and 3)...now it says device not supported...
All my other apps appear to work fine...

its possible, google play has the bad habit of trying to tell us what we can and cant use, which is completely and utterly ******ed in my personal opinion. i understand somethings that may break it if used but firefox is not one of them and most of the ones that can break your phone dont use that feature... youll have to install it manually unfortunately, the program should still be fully compatable, its just the play store thats the issue, mind you it can be fixed in rom, im just not sure what value the play store uses to identify, and itd probably be kind of a pain. also, if its a problem with a specific rom, you should put the name of it in the title

thanks Junkie. I just ended up finding a place to download the Firefox app directly from another source, it's working fine.

My wife's non rooted warp sequent had the same issue and so did my rooted sequent.

You don't need to use a third party website. Just install http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/ into chrome. Goto the play store and click the green android button in the upper right of the chrome url in the browser.

This will download the apk file. Then put the file on your sd/phone. Unplug your phone from the computer. Browse to the apk file on your phone and run it.

I was trying to figure this out for a while, as ignorant as this sounds i didn't think to just download firefox manually. There's an add-on that lets you download flash files. I can finally kinda watch streaming flash without it freezing mid way or crashing. Thanks guys.
