Firefox mobile problem

I just downloaded and installed Firefox mobile on my Dell Streak 5(android 2.3.3). But when I open the program, the text is not in English. All I see is gibberish, like hieroglyphics with symbols, fractions, punctuation. How do I change the font or language to English? Thanks
 
Open Firefox, swipe left, go to Preferences (tap gear bottom right) choose 'Language' and pick. There are no font settings.
 
I'm experiencing the same problem. Unfortunately the solution suggested does not work, as any language that uses the latin alphabet seem to have been converted into random symbols in the Firefox engine, as both sites and Firefoxes own text appear to have been affected.

Any other suggestions?
