Help Firefox: remove an entry list item

RBEmerson

Under Firefox, I allow some type-in boxes to provide previously used entries. For example, in the NOAA weather pages, the entry for location has built up a list of cities and towns I've entered. The problem is there are some typos and some places I just don't need. Is there a way to remove single items from these lists? I tried highlighting an entry and hitting the backspace key. No luck. Swiping doesn't help. Trying to select a whole word and cutting doesn't work. What does work?

Found this with Google.

When I attempt to fill in a form, as I type,a Firefox will offer suggestions as to what to fill in. For example, the web form asks for a date. I want to enter 5/25/2011. As I have filled out this form before, Firefox offers suggestions of 5/25/2009, 5/25/2010, and 5/25/2011. I no longer will be entering 5/25/2009 or 5/25/2010, so I will not need those suggestions any more. How do I get rid of them? As it's annoying to have them constantly showing up. ( The same thing occurs if you make a mistake, for example, in typing an e-mail address. The mistake keeps showing up as a suggestion. )

  • Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
  • Highlight an entry in the drop down list
  • Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

How about this?

Clearing a single item from the Location bar history

  1. To clear a single item in the Location bar history, click the drop-down arrow in the Location bar.
  2. Press the Down arrow key, or move the mouse, to highlight the entry to delete.

  3. To clear the highlighted item, press Delete on your keyboard.
The item is deleted.

No joy - I'm beginning to think entries in a drop-down list can't be deleted. I've tried highlighting an entry and tapping the backspace key, tried just leaning on the entry (maybe it'll pop up a menu or just go away), tried swiping it off the menu. Nada. And there doesn't seem to be anything about this in the Firefox mobile site.

The feature I'm trying to get under control is called "form history" or "form filler". The Mozilla site isn't very helpful on this feature. No, not helpful at all... feh.

Start Fifox. hit the bottom left button for your settings, scroll down and select Settings. Scroll down and select Clear private data. I think after that, with the next menu, you can figure it out.;)

copy the ones you want to keep into a notepad sheet, clear everything and paste them back in as you need them

Um, easier said than done. The mobile version of FF doesn't list form histories or the site associated with any one history.
