Help Firmware is up to date 2.2

Hi I have kies installed and when I plug in my Galaxy S it insists that my firmware is up to date PDA:JP4 / Phone:JP3 / CSC:JP4 (VAU). But in reality I know that my firmware 2.2 is not up to date. How will I be able to get the latest update? Thanks

Your phone appears to be a Vodafone branded model (VAU) in Australia.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't realise firmware updates went through the carrier as well thanks for pointing out the blog.

No worries. A similar thing happened here in the UK. Samsung released the Gingerbread update in April then pulled it again the very same day. Then they released it again a month later.
