Help Firmware update button?

I have had an xperia x8 before my san francisco and in setting\about phone there is an update firmware button. However, in the san francisco that button is gone and I cannot find it anywhere. I am not looking for 2.2 or 2.3 or anything. Just wondering. It must be somewhere because surely they release bug fixes or something like that once in a while? If there is no button then how do I update? There is no pc software that came on it and windows only installs ZTE HUSB drivers. Anyone know?

Because Orange don't update it and to officially update to Froyo your phone gets repartitioned

On SS5 Froyo, there is this:

Settings/About Phone/System Updates/Storage card updates.....

Ya gotta copy your update package to image dir on SD, and click OK!!!

Anyone try this, as in flash update not using CWR??

Most European carriers seem to have Froyo now
Orange and its subsidiaries seem to be the main exception
