Help firmware update & data

MilesChap

Newbie
Have had the 7000 for about a month and 2 days ago received a note that a firmware update was available. And to the effect that all data should first be backed up in the event it is lost.

I have very little data, whatever that includes, address book from google, added programs such as firefox, avg abd a few others. Oh, and also have the users manual, but don't know if it's solely on the microSB or in memory or both -- where do I find where it is?

Secondly, how does one back up the data -- with a cable to the computer or to the SB or ----- ?

It depends what data you want to backup. Contacts can be synced with Gmail and images, video or other files should be on either the internal or external SD card.

Also I don't believe you will lose any data. It never happened to me in the hundreds of upgrades made :)

Thank you for your explanation. And as it evolved the phone eventually auto updated as can be seen by in About Phone. Don't know how this occurred, perhaps there's a setting somewhere?
