Help Firmware update failed, cannot boot phone

Tried updating my Samsung Captivate Glide to ICS via Kies. Kies froze and failed to update. After I restarted Kies it would not load so I reinstalled and updated it. After update it would not load so I reinstalled again and did not update it. Kies worked and loaded but now I cannot connect to my phone.

Cannot boot phone as I get "Firmware Upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."

SO my question is: Is there a way to recover my phone without Kies? I tried the 'volume down, home, and power' thing but it still wont boot.

Any suggestions?

I have moved this thread into the Captivate Glide forums to receive some better device specific assistance.

If you have an AT&T service center nearby, they should be able to reload the phone without Kies. If the phone is still under warranty, it can be sent back to Samsung who will reload it as well. Good luck.
