Firmware update help

In Kies software my phone is not being detected in the Firmware upgrade settings mode.
And, when I try to upgrade it OTA it shows connection failed. I've tried updating it on 3G, GPRS, WiFi. Every time it shows connection failed.

I live in Gurgaon, India and have Vodafone connection.

I wouldn't be doing a firmware upgrade over Wifi - you need to connect it with USB as a reliable mode for updating. When updating firmware it will reboot etc. so wifi will be interupted - basically it doesn't work OTA...

Updating the firmware is perfectly OK. I had a Nokia N97mini earlier and I used to update its firmware over WiFi only.
The thing is the phone first downloads the whole update over wifi and then only restarts to install that update while booting.

Updating the firmware *over WiFi* is OK.
