firmware update today

Hi all , from the UK and on ee network , I got a notification today for a firmware update on my s3 , after I installed it my phone was still on 4.1.2 , any idea what the update might have been for , many thanks , Dave

Well I thought it might have been but my phone is still on 4.1.2

Ok... I'm also from the UK... I got an update.. And then noticed that my application manger has messed up..
Any ideas..? I've tried to restore it a number of times... But no joy

Sorry about your App Mgr, Saj - mine's OK and I wouldn't know how to fix it - except could you download the update all over again, maybe from Samsung's website?

You'll be waiting a few months yet for 4.2.2 and that's if it even comes, rumour has it they might just skip to 4.3.

Yes, I did some Googling and read that the S3 upgrade will probably not be until November and then it might not be 4.3 but 4.2.2. Not that it will make much difference to me, I can't even use what I've got to best advantage

I'd still like to know what this latest update was. It's lost my Swype keyboard and I can't figure out how to get it back. Don't worry, I'll Google that too.

Yeah, but how many people are like me? I want 4.2.2 now, then 4.3 asap. But I don't really know why, apart from it meaning that I'm up to date and "I'm worth it". Fact is, my phone does all that I want and need, and it does it perfectly well. The upgrades I really want are technology-limited... a properly sunlight-readable screen and a battery life of several days. I guess I'll be waiting a while yet!

I haven't noticed any problems yet but I do know I now have multi window. You can activate it by holding the back button if you want to see. It's also there on the notification bar now, when you scroll you'll see the button to turn it on.

Be good if we could find out if theres something in common between all the s3s suffering it :thumbup:
