Help Firmware updateon rooted evo?

I keep getting this pop up on my phonethat a firmware update is available for me to download I've ignored it a ton of times so I finally I was like ok this is getting annoying, so I went ahead and downloaded the firmware update and when I tried to install it, it rebooted my phone ad started up into this screen with the lil android man with an exclamation mark next to him, I waited for like an hour and looked at my phone again and it was the same screen,i had to take my battery out to get off the screen and it restarted fine, I've tried downloading the firmware update a couple more times and same thing happens..i was wondering is it because I rooted my phone with unvoked? Please help meee I think the lack of thefirmware update isalso the reason why angry birds won't install

Its not because you are rooted with unrevoked, its simply because your rooted. And are you sure it was a firmware update and not a HTC software update? If you want it to stop popping up then go into system updates and unselect automatic update or whatever it says. I'm on cm6.1 so I dunno. And as far as angry birds, it's not the lack of firmware updates causing it not to install, its more than likely related to the rom. What rom are you using?

Oh yeah it is a HTC Software update system upgrade 3.29.651.5 Is there any way of upgrading with having a rooted phone? and im not sure what ROM i have i dont know anything about rom's but im pretty sure its just the stock rom.... and when i download angry birds it says a manual update is required before i download it and once i download it, it starts installing but 2 seconds later it says installation unsuccessful.

Go over to xda and find a rom you like. All the roms are based off of the new software. So when you do flash a new rom you will then be updated! Head over to the rooting section and check out the sticky rooting for dummies if you haven't already. It has tutorials on almost everything!
