Firmware upgrade Error

Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-T989D Telus (Canada)

Firmware Upgrade error, Kies is not recognizing the phone, ODIN keeps failing when I try to flash, downloaded the file from samsung-support.com, did a battery pull, even held my breath for 20sec, keeps looping to the same 'black screen of death'

Any suggestions ?

Make sure you are in download mode when accessing Odin, your device should be recognized.

Just be sure you are using the correct version of Odin and the right firmware.
