If you are running Android 5.1 then you're in luck.
If you are running Android 6.0+, you'll probably have to contact the manufacturer/reseller.

Hello, New to this group & have never tried to upgrade a Android device before. I have a
Specifications: CS918
CPU: Rockchip 3188T Quad-Core
Memory: DDRIII 2GB
Flash: Nand Flash 16GB (Support 16GB)
running OS: Android 4.4
Is it possible to upgrade to Android 5 or higher? If so can someone point me in the right direction with a guild or YouTube video & where to get the firmware?

First of all... WHY do you want to upgrade the Android version?

Mine runs 4.4 also and I have not yet found a compelling reason to (risk an) upgrade to a higher version.

Using it to run Kodi & cannot upgrade to 17 unless it's on Android 5 or better. I expect sooner or later the support will stop if or when I have issues

Fair enough. I'm in the same predicament.

But I haven't seen anything or read anything (apart from what the KODI people say) that would make me want to risk the upgrade to Android 5 just to load KODI 17.

I'll be getting a new box if and when I want to upgrade to KODI 17.
I don't want to risk a dodgy upgrade experience with these flaky devices!

Yeah, I'm looking into new devices also. Picked up a MadCatz Mojo. Love it but it requires modding and it's a little complicated but once done, its fast ! Not sure if I can spend the $$$ on a Nvidia Shield

Yeah, they are quite pricey, but the old adage is true - especially with Android TV boxes - You get what you pay for!
