Help First Android phone and need major help with contacts.

So I set up the phone with my 3 gmail accounts, twiter, skype, fb, etc... but what I didn't do was set up my contacts because they didn't have the software to do it with at the VZ store. I manually entered in a few important ones, but when I go to the "people" app, it says I have over 100 contacts. Every single person from all my email accounts, skype and twitter are now there. Is there anyway to remove all those and ONLY show contacts that I've personally entered myself? I already selected "do not sync contacts" but they all still show up. Only smart phones I've ever had were blackberries and they have a dedicated "contacts" app that has ONLY my contacts organized. Anything similar on this phone? I've spent hours trying to figure it out so I figure I'd turn to you guys for some help. Thanks

the easiest way i found is first of all do it through gmail on your laptop, but what you do is take your contacts and add them to groups (friends, family, co-workers etc..) on your phone in the people app in the menu (3 dots, in the top right if i remember) you can go in and say what to show, and choose your groups that you want to show.

Thank you for the response. I'm going to give that a try because its very frustrating having every single contact from every single app thrown in together like that.
