Help First battery charge

Hi all :)

I have a One X due to be delivered today, what's the best way to charge the battery first time out? Phone off and charge fully? Should I run it to empty before charging a second time etc?

Also, I've only ever backed apps up via Titanium Backup Root on my HTC Desire, so I need advice on the best app to back up my apps on the old Desire before I retire it, which app is the best and free if possible?

Many thanks :)

Charge wise, that's what I generally do, but after that, you can charge as and when it needs it. There's no memory in these batteries and they will last longer if you don't do full charge/discharge cycles.

Titanium will backup your apps etc, but you'd need root to install them on your new phone. Will you be rooting? If you're not fussed about the app data, they're tied to your Gmail account so if the same account is linked to your new handset, you'll be able to download them again no problems.

Cheers for battery advice!

As for backup, I'll probably root after a week or two, is it necessary on the One X? With the Desire is was required due to low internal memory. I might not bother if I don't miss my MiUi ROM setup.

Aye, would need to backup app data too as some is important.

Thanks :)

TitaniumBackup is the best option, you can sync user apps to dropbox and download their associated data and restore with tb. Alternatively, just copy the tb backups from the Desire to your PC, then put them on the sd card of your new phone.

Tried MIUI BTW, some nice touches, but not for me :p

Darn phone never came yesterday :( A full day housebound to no avail lol aaaarggh

mmmmm I can't find 'normal' Titanium Backup on the market, nearly sure there was a non root one before but all I get returned when searching is the root and pro-root versions :(

I guess if you're planning on rooting in two weeks then why not go ahead and do it now? I'm assuming you want to make sure everything is fine with the phone before rooting and possible voiding your warranty? I did hear a lot about the One X (at least the earlier versions) having screen problems, the most popular being pixels on the screen.

To be honest I use three different applications to backup everything: Titanium Backup for system data, App Backup & Restore for applications, and finally Backup Master for contacts, SMS, call history log files, MMS, etc.

Then again you don't have to use anything but Titanium Backup to backup all of that data, I am just weird like that. lol
