Help First Charge Cycle

How important is that first charge cycle? I've left it 3 hours now but I'm dying to get on it! lol orange deactivated my iPhone sim so I'm stuck without a phone now and I'm charging the htc while it's turned off.

I always thought it was the most important, but opinion differs. I'd let it go a good 6-8 hours before using, but that's just me.

What S/W version did the phone come with?

I can't remember, I charged it briefly and got about 1 hour out of the phone before it died, so it's been charging while turned off since 11, does the phone need to be turned off and not used in the charge cycle or does it make no difference.

I picked mine up from the t-mobile shop the day after launch - they switched over the sim to the new phone so I had to start using it straight away :(

Perhaps that's why my battery is shite now - it's ok as long as I don't use the phone :)

1 Omnia,2 Desires,1 SE Xperia,1 X1..
I started to use them without any initial charge till battery is drained a full charge later and no problem at all.Though X1 is still very new...

I had that problem to, because I was coming from a Desire with a standard sim. The transferred the data to the micro Sim and popped it in. Obv the standard sim was no longer working so had to use the One X straight away as I couldn't be without a phone.

This may be a dumb statement... But I wasn't aware that the initial charging of the battery could effect future battery life. If that's the case, every phone I've ever used has had a corrupt battery. o.O Oops?

Theories differ, I always play it safe. My first charge is always 6-8 hours, then a complete discharge, then a full charge again.

It's probably not necessary, but I've never had any issues with battery life on any of my phones, tablets etc.

That's what I always do as well and I've never had a problem with low battery usage. I can get 2 full days with my One X before I have to charge it again.
