First Extended battery for Droid Razr

Guys that battery has been listed since the 2nd week of December ....I went on the chat and spoke with a rep.She said the battery isn't available now but should be by mid late January ...I want one bad, my only reservation is the likely loss of my warranty .....I had to use the warranty on my droid x due to a loose headphone jack about 10 months into owning it.Personally I'd rather get the razr maxx back cover and battery ....but that still won't make it a Razr maxx since it has 32gb of internal storage ...

Here's hoping Verizon will offer to upgrade existing Razr's to the new battery, so I can keep my warranty.

I'd pay someone to do this even though I can do it easily by watching the video. I just don't want to lose my warranty this early. Still have 11 months on it.

I don't really use the forums to prove myself. Not trying is your loss not mine. Whole process is done in under 2 minutes.

I second this as I have also had mine apart and the hardest part was taking the T-5 screws out with a modified flat blade mini screw driver.

I was impatient :D I now have the proper tool.

Razr Maxx has 16 internal, 16 sd, no different then our phones.

Congrats! I don't have the skills and would end up with a pile of mess! Heck it took me longer than that for me to put my screen protector on.....

To be honest screen protectors are way harder to get on properly than to get at the battery.

Man aint that the truth, I always wind up chasing a damned air bubble all around and get pissed and throw the damned thing away.:D

If this works, great. But I think I'm going with a extended external batt. One that charges more than once, is relatively small and can charge other things.

The only problem I see with replacing the back for a larger battery is the door for the SD and SIM cards. It looks larger on the Maxx, so the back from it won't fit correctly. A custom back would have to be made, or the door would have to be replaced. By the way, the back comes right off. I was able to pry it loose with my fingernails. I didn't even have to get up for my plastic scribe.

I saw the announcements about the possible release of the MAXX on the 26th last night and today. Just tried to call it in and return it under the 100% satisfaction 2 week trial but missed my window by 20 hours. What a kick in the teeth. I would certainly echo another posters thoughts that Motorola should work on one really solid device for about a year and then focus on great software/firmware support for the following time. Apple is way ahead there.

MotorolaMobile is a separate company from the rest of Motorola and in today's world of mobile phone it would go bankrupt in 6 months if it was only to have one device on the market - does not matter how good it would be.

Same way, Apple have 3GS, 4 and 4S being in production at the same time.

Back on topic - if only some manufacturer could take it seriously and create an external battery that would perfectly fir the back of the Razr and have an ultra short uUSB cable and be 3000-4000mAh, it would be perfect, I think.

Are you aware of anything like that in the works? It would be nice.

Set Your Location

this doesn't look half bad, but it's still a bulky attachment that you have to carry around with you if you want to use it... still, decent price and basically doubles the battery life for 40 bucks

I just purchased a Razr (waiting for it to be delivered), and with it I ordered the SmartSeries 2600mAh extended battery, which is a relatively small device, easily fit into a pocket or a small compartment of a backpack, and effectively doubles the battery life of my phone if I should need it, and it would be easy to plug that in and charge it during class or something, and then by the time I am out of my class (about an hour and 15 mins), bam, back to full charge! Normally a 50 dollar device, but I got a discount buying it with my phone, so now it's 30

2600mAh for $30 is not the best deal you can get and including power loss due to use etc., you might get one full charge out of it or you might not.

My preference are the hyperjuice products, they make excellent external battery chargers that last really well. However being predominantly Apple supported product the price tag reflects that.

It is funny how people get abused only because they buy an Apple product.

It is also funny why anyone would target a battery extender for only one device - the only reason i would see is to abuse the poor Apple users.

Just ordered a Anker 8500mah from Amazon. Able to charge two units at once. With all the electronic gadgets in our house, this was important. Kids cellphone, wifes, mine, two iPods, three Nintendo portables, two tablets, I mean good grief....it's like a electronic zoo!
