Previous phones in past year: iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, BB Torch. Broke my 3GS on St Pattys Day (damn green beer!) and was using my back up Torch, which blows.
Had to pay the full price for the phone but so far, it's been well worth it
Battery life: This part scared me. But as I expected, it's nowhere near as bad as what people say. I drained the battery down just playing with settings and syncing my email accounts (a little harder than the iPhone I must say). Took about 1hr30min to fully charge. Took it off charger at 1900 yesterday and spent about 2 hours playing with settings and customization. Granted while syncing music and photos it was plugged up to computer with charge, but no longer than 30 min.
17 hours on a charge at 1900, it's still got half a charge left right now. GPS turned on, WiFi when at home, screen at 20% (not horribly dark either).
Syncing: Hardest thing I did run into was the iPhoto/iTunes sync for the phone. It's a lot simpler using an iPhone with my Mac (obviously so). iTunes doesn't recognize the phone at all. Downloaded DoubleTwist doubleTwist and it allowed my to sync music and photos. Only issue is all photos aren't in albums like iTunes does. Just added a Task Manager to rearrange photos, and it's a done deal.
Overall, I'm very happy with the phone. It was kinda confusing at first, but after playing with it everything fell into place. As far as battery life goes, it's a smart phone. I know it's gonna die with constant web browsing, texting, games, etc. But with typical use like how I used it (15 texts, 30 emails, a little web browsing, constant tinkering) you should be good for 24hours, easily.
