first problems with epic

My epic has grown a mind of its own in the past few days
it is constantly opening voicetalk. It keeps on turning on my speakerphone on incoming calls. It will randomly shut off and turn back on. And now my speaker dosent work. Any idea what is the problem here.

Sounds to me like you have a lemon. I would take it to a Sprint store or even call Sprint first and get some tech support. Could be hardware, but sounds like a software problem which could be fixed with some tech support. Good luck, and let me know what you find out!

P.S. If you want to avoid Sprint tech support, trying doing a complete wipe and reset, and see if that solves those issues. Just back up anything you need to first. But I would recommend at least trying with Sprint first to avoid that myself.

I'm having the same exact problem with my phone. Among other things. Not only will it randomly start voice talk and driving mode by itself, but it will also say that there is a usb cable connected which drains the battery in a matter of hours. The phone will randomly crash and reboot by itself while using random applications. And about once every 1 or 2 weeks, the phone will get noticably hot while in sleep mode. I can feel the heat on my leg though my pocket. When this happens, the battery will drain itself in a couple hours. When I check to see what has been using the battery, it says the Android OS is using 90+% of the power.

I've had this phone for less than 3 months. I'm taking it back to the sprint store tomorrow morning since it's under warranty. I'm dreading it because dealing with these people is always difficult. If you find a solution to the problem, I'd really like to know.

haha! I took it to sprint and the dumb girl at the counter told me leave it here overnight and we will perform a factory reset and you can pick up your phone in the morning. I laughed at her and asked why it would so long to factory reset. She then started to tell me stuff about the tech having to go into the phone and reset it manually making it seem like it was hard to do. . I walked out dissatisfied but for whatever reason my phone stoppped glicthing. Its been a weekend if it pops up again im going to call sprint.

I took mine into a sprint store yesterday for the same problem. I also had some problems with the USB. The thing would think it was connected to a charger all the time.

I brought in a list of 10 screwy things it was doing and gave it to them. They told me it was going to be about an hour. So I left, and came back. I was told that they found some corrosion inside the usb port causing it to short out. They ended up just giving me a new phone. I think that the list of 10 problems really helped them decide to replace it rather than try to fix it.

Hopefully the new phone doesn't devolop all the problems the first one did.
