First Time Android User says Hello

Hi everyone! I just got my first Android phone (and first smart phone) yesterday; a Droid 3. I'm really liking it so far, but it took me a few hours to get used to the difference between my old cheap cell phone and this nice new smart phone. I found this forum while I was searching for tips to make the battery last a little longer (although why I thought the battery would last when I couldn't put the phone down, I don't know ). Looks like there's a lot of good information here to get through...I'd better get started!

Day 1 I had to charge the battery twice in less than twelve hours. Today (one week later) I am 11 hours and 50 minutes on battery and have 70% remaining. It seems that the battery is as smart as the phone and it learns.
