Android Question

I just bought my first Android phone which is Note 3. First time unboxing at the store, the battery shows around 53% left. The store person said to let it drain first and charge it for good 6 hours and don't let it stays charged overnight because it will make the battery don't last longer. After I drain it and charge it, it shows full charged just in 4 hours. So I unplugged and use as usual. But then I notice the battery drain quite fast. On medium/low usage, it only last for a day. From what I heard, Note 3 battery should last longer as the capacity of the battery is bigger by 100mAh from Note 2. I saw some impressive battery life on Note 2. That is why I choose Note 3 thinking it would be as good as or even better than Note 2.

Is there any way of charging your battery for first time for Note 3? Since the charger using USB 3.0, the charging period was shorter. Any advise? Did I do something wrong with my device.

Hi

I'm sure it's fine. Generally don't let the battery run flat. Plug it in before say 5%.

4 hours sounds about right for a full charge. 1 day with a lot of use of your new phone is also about right. If you turn the cell data off when not using it it will last much longer

Thank you Roger,

But I was concern since if I use if for a little browsing and gaming, the battery drop significantly. If I let the phone on idle, the battery did last longer. But as soon as I open any apps, check email or open wassap, the battery started draining really fast. Is this normal? And I try to charge it today and it only took around 2 hours to fully charge. Should I just let it charge longer or just unplug as soon as it says "fully charge"?
