I know i need to downgrade spl from version 3.0.3 but do i have to use hslp4 to do it?.

I've read that there are two types of hd'2s and that some roms only work with one type. How do i know what type i have? i am located in U.K if that helps.

Finally can anybody recommend a good SD based rom?.

I am grateful for any advice.

That is correct. The numbers there just denote version of the program. So someone made HSPL, then HSPL2, then HSPL3, etc. HSPL4 just has more bug fixes/features in it than the previous versions. But you need to use one of those programs to install the HSPL v2.08 to your phone.

If your radio is already 2.15.50.14 then good for you! That is the exact version that you want. Your phone should actually have like 586MB of RAM or something like that and that radio version allows you access all of it (512MB is an artificial limitation imposed by software).

I can't recommend SD versions because I have only ever installed NAND versions. However, here are the basic steps you should follow when doing this:

1. Install HSPL 2.08 on the phone. Make sure that when the program runs you select 2.08HSPL and *NOT* 2.08.0000:

2. Install radio version 2.15.50.14 (looks like you can skip this step though others will need it):

3. Install MAGLDR 1.13:

Now at this point you flash whatever ROM you want to NAND. The instructions differ by ROM (some use MAGLDR while others require you to install Clockworkmod recovery and flash from there).

Good luck. If you have any questions just ask but I don't have time to visit here very often these days. :/

I'm using this ROM for a few months and flashing my HD2 with all versions of this ROM till newest... All works perfect, and also I allready flased 10 more HD2's of my friends and they all are satisfied. Camera and camcorder works too! All you need is HD2 Toolkit (if u need that email me and i will send you files - htc.todic@gmail.com)... Put ICS and don't worry...

Thanks to programmers all around the world for making HD2 so good with they andro OS.!
