Wow, what a great place to start Can anyone help me with setting a password to prevent other people accessing my phone and using my gmail account? The next immidiate challenge is to clear browser history in my google account ! I have a manage search history icon when i press my menu help button on phone but icon is not able to be activated?

Welcome to the forums! You can usually set a password/pin for your device... which phone do you own, as each one is slightly different... we will point you in the right direction if you let us know?

Alternatively, go to http://androidforums.com/ and scroll down until you see your phone and go directly in to the sub-forum for your handset, as other users of your device are the best to offer advice!

Welcome to Android Forums!

To set screen security, go to menu>settings>location & security and select set up screen lock. Be advised if you forget the password or unlock pattern, or have too many failed attempts, the only way to unlock your phone is by using the gmail account and password the phone is registered to. If you forget those credentials, then you will have to perform a factory reset to make the phone usable again, which will erase all your applications and settings.

So ... keep your credentials safe and back up your important data regularly!
