[fix]: My tablet forgets changes and installed apps

There are many people suffering from this problem. The latest thinking is that the image on the internal tf card is corrupted and the card has gone read only.

There are, at present, two possible solutions -
1. Install a terminal emulator if you don't already have one, for example ConnectBot. open it by selecting local and typing 'root' in the nickname bar. Type su [enter]
Type /system/bin/fsck_msdos -y /dev/block/vold/179:6 [enter]

Then reboot the tablet.

this will check and rectify any errors on the internal tf card file system. This command works on Tims firmware, if yours is different it may not work as the partition definitions may be different.

If this fixes your problem it can only be considered as a temporary reprieve as the root cause is still there, and that is the poor quality of the internal tf card, which brings us to solution no.2

2/ THIS WILL INVALIDATE YOUR WARRANTY

so you might want to think about sending the tablet back as faulty.

If you decide to go ahead it is at your own risk.you will need a better quality tf card and a firmware to re-flash onto it. If you don't know where to go for your firmware ask on the forum quoting your tablets' model number.

There are some PHOTOS showing dis-assembly of the FT3, you MUST take care when splitting the two halves to keep the bottoms together until you have identified the two ribbon cables and released them from their connectors (or carefully placed the two halves down as the cables are just long enough to do so). Once the FT3 is open, you can remove the three tiny screws holding the pcb in the case, lift the pcb, turn it over and replace the tf card. Re-assemble carefully. Once complete again you can re-flash your firmware and hopefully, never suffer from the 'my FT3 has forgotten my apps' syndrome.
