Root [FIX] Water damaged phones

ever dropped your android phone in water (toilet, cup, pool, etc.)? does it still turn on and function semi-normally (maybe battery drains faster than normal, camera doesn't initialize properly, overheating with wifi enabled, etc.)?
I have a Boost Mobile LG Marquee that a co-worker gave me because he spilled beer on it and took it apart in an attempt to fix it, but damaged the in-call speaker in the process. one of the side effects from the spilled beer was that the battery meter was inaccurate, it reported only 2 percent and charging, even when the battery was full, and would report 0 percent after a few minutes unplugged from the charger even when the battery was still full.
I searched all over google for fixing water damaged phones and I was skeptical about using the following fix described below. I tested it on a old flip phone I used back in the day, and I was amazed with the results.

these are the steps I took to restore my phone (depending on your situation, please do not perform certain steps if its not needed):
1. disassembled the phone (do not disassemble unless ur absolutely positive this will help)
2. remove the motherboard carefully without tearing any ribbons or damaging terminals
3. get a bowl and pour 99% isopropyl rubbing alcohol (I used 91%, it was the closest I got to 99%) and soak the motherboard in the rubbing alcohol and let it sit there for a few minutes. the affected components must be completely submerged.
4. take the motherboard out of the alcohol solution and let it dry, the alcohol will evaporate on its own (if you want to make sure its dry, get a sandwich bag and fill it not completely with uncooked rice and put the component inside, seal the bag, and let it sit there for maybe an hour)
5. reattach the components, put the phone back together, power on
enjoy:)

depending on your situation you may not need to perform every step. I disassembled my phone because I did not want to get the whole phone wet, it ruins the plastics and the pieces that hold the plastics together, I lost a perfectly good AT&T Fuze to a cup of soda (damaged camera and slide out keyboard) and attempting to wash out the soda by removing battery and soaking the phone in water then drying with rice (weakened plastics). I didn't know about this method at the time, and this happened nearly 3 years ago.

questions? PM me..:)

I am NOT responsible for further damages done to your phone, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!
