fixing battery issues

My Samsung S4 Mini can only charge up to ~60% (4200mV) and then stops charging but continuously beeps (indicating it's fully charged). Is there a way to re-calibrate the battery without rooting the device (it's still in warranty).
It seems that the battery management is screwed up...

thanks,
Dirk

Best way is to charge it overnight (so you know it's fully full) then run it right down til it dies then fully charge it again then use it normally.
If that fails you maybe need a new battery

it won't charge past 60% (but at 4200mV) so I think it is actually completely full.
I don't think the battery is faulty, but the software seems to be mixed up.
As it does not reach 100%, the charger will keep on trying and constantly gives the "fully charged" beeps, which is quite annoying :)

Let it charge a few hours from when it thinks it's full then try the process I said.
If this fails and you're sure it's not the battery it might be worth trying a factory reset.
Battery calibration on modern phones happens from charge to change, not long term so these battery calibration apps are basically useless nowadays
