Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and this is my first time posting.
I just got backmy Nexus 7 from RMA. It was repaired for failing to boot up.
Works fine now, or so I thought.
Like others on this forum I couldn't get the sound to play consistently through the headphones. Jiggling the plug would only work momentarily. I pushed it in hard many times or so I thought so I dismissed the advice from many on this thread to really push it hard. I had given up and was resigned to calling Asus not for repair but for return and money back.
Then I just no longer could ignore the repeated insistence on this thread that one does really have to push beyond what most have come to expect in their experience with audio plugs. So as a result I pushed REALLY HARD!
VOILA. The plugged snapped with a kind of understated and very briefly violent snap that was at once a surprise and a cause for great satisfaction. Even yet I feel that the port's manufacturing tolerances are much too tight. Like another poster on here commented I think-that over time with repeated use-the longevity of the plugs may be affected by forces in pushing it in and pulling it out. The latter is analogical to what she said.
Anyway, I hope, despite my voluble account, that my experience helps others push hard before RMAing the N7.
