Flash - how is it working?

Andronix

Sorry if this question has been asked already, I'm interested in how well Hero hardware handles flash sites, are they usable? Any gaming sites supported ? Can you watch flash video sites other than youtube?

Well so far I have been able to view a few sites with flash content ok. Playback of video is choppy at best. Tried a few flash games and the game could not center correctly on the screen. However this does not worry me to much as this is still quite new to mobiles.

The main difference to browsing on the Hero and other phones seems to be that you get to view flash adverts and banners (and wait for them to download.) Vive la revolution!

Not great. Was looking forward to redtube.com on my mobile, but it's not working :(
Pff, you want tube8* it's much better.

*Warning, do not search for and visit said site while at work, with family/significant other around, if you're religious, have delicate sensibilities or have no wish to go blind.

Much better? I'm interested in technical details, not the contents of the movies :)

Does it play videos in the browser or opens up a video player? If you're not aware, nonHero ROMs browsers play youtube movies linked inside web pages by opening a video player when you click on a preview image in the browser.

Also, can someone please check http://www.globulos.com on their Hero, very nice multiplayer games

Hey, you brought it up! I just wanted to inform you that your choice in uh... romantic movies... was not as refined as it could be :).

Thanks nafe - I know who to PM now when I need a more 'refined' choice!

Anyway, to change the subject:

Just been on to BBC iPlayer, and tried to watch a movie clip. It told me I needed to download flash player?????? Thought it was on there by default?

I expect it's taken exception to the Flash lite version you've got on there. There's an app called "Beeb Player" as far as I know, you might want to give that a try.
