Flash Player 101 on N1 video

One thing I loved on my Nokia N900 was flash. It was awesome. All sites were open to me, it was a true desktop experience. I cant wait for this on the Nexus 1

Does the N1 support HTML5?

I would soo love it if I didn't have to use Flash any more. I use Ubuntu Linux on my computers at home and it always takes up a ton of CPU cycles which makes my laptop fan work overtime.

safari and chrome are said to use HTML5... dunno if that applies to the browser on the Nexus... however, keep in mind HTML 5 relies on H.264 for video... which the Nexus does support...

I think it's going to be a while before HTML5 takes the reigns away from Flash. It's easy to embed, lightweight, developers know how to use it and there are a ton of end user tools surrounding the environment.

If anything, it's a bigger threat to Microsoft's Silverlight. Anyone with a Mac knows that Flash on OSX is pretty ugly and choppy. Silverlight is just beautiful on Mac and PC alike but it requires a pretty robust plug-in that doesn't make it very mobile platform friendly...
