Root flashed nero v3 .... kinda crappy battery help ?

i just flashed the nero v3 rom and i still get crappy battery life . Im about to download a task manager in hopes of that helping alittle but , is there anything else i can really do to fix this problem ?

You don't need a task manager. You have one built in. You probably need to train your battery, which will mean you need to wipe your battery stats.

I might need to do that to mine as well but when I did it yesterday I think I forgot one of the steps. Can you enlighten us here on what to do?

Well I know part of it but I can't remember all of the steps. The big part of it is letting your battery run out and let the phone die.

first, what kinda of phone are you guys coming from and what exactly are you guys getting for battery life. This is an extremely powerful phone so you have to realize that the battery will not last as long as "dumb" phones or even Blackberry's.

To train the battery you have to drain it completely to dead and charged fully several times. Then you just charge it normally. To wipe battery stats, when you go into Rom Manager, select "reboot into recovery" than select ok. From there you go to "advanced" setting and from that screen you select "wipe battery statistics" and your done.

Charge to full. Drain to empty. Charge to full with phone off. Boot in to recovery, then go to advanced, and wipe battery stats. This should set you straight.

Thanks bro. That second part was what I missed, looks like I will be doing it today, gotta find something to do to drain the battery without making it the phone too hot lol

i usually just stream some flash video with the screen brightness all the way up and the sound cranked. Having WifI, GPS, and bluetooth on couldn't hurt, either.

I'm actually running the XM app with the sound turned all the way down while I watch tv but I will change the screen timeout timer and make it go faster.

Did you reboot it after 10 minutes of it being on and do you have the voodoo lagfix enabled? It comes preinstalled but it is disabled on initial flash. The new market sucks. Its the only thing I hate about this rom

I don't know why Team Whiskey opted to use the new market. Axura used the old market which was the tits. Like I said, its the only thing I hate about this rom

The newest version of Axura uses the new market, too. I don't really get it myself. Maybe JL5 framework doesn't like the old market.

Really? thats a shame. It was the only thing that I loved over Nero. Atleast I have the old Axura 2.2 with jl5 if I ever want to flash back to that. I think the new Market really set the Android community back. It really reminds me of how much I hated iTunes.

I kinda like it now and think its come a long way from the way it used to be when it was just black and white with very little apps.

it definitely has come a long way, but I really think that they are trying to go just a little bit too mainstream with it. I remember back in the day with my G1 people asking me what the hell android was. Now everyone knows, but all they know is that it has apps. I an iphone. Most people have no concept of open source development, nor do I think they care. Because I'll buy anything that is shiny, white, and has a click wheel.

Its recommended that you recondition the battery after every rom flash; how you do that is to drain the battery fully, charge it up fully, then go into recovery and delete battery data...or something like this

Because I use Nero v3 touchwiz edition and battery life is good for me.

Your mostly right, after you drain the battery I was told that when you charge it to leave the phone off when you do it then when its full boot into clockwork recovery and delete battery stats or something like that.

maybe its not that bad its taken all afternoon for the battery to drain.

Yea thats mostly true but it all really boils down to what you leave the phone on doing to make it run down faster. Right now after updating the axura rom to the latest version im running the sirius/xm online radio app along with the avatar movie playing with the volume up and my headphones plugged in so i dont have to hear it while im playing a game on my comp lol, oh and the brightness is at max.

My battery life has been great since I flashed to Nero V3 w/ voodoo lagfix enabled. I didn't recondition my battery either, I might start reconditioning it tomorrow.
