Root Flashing 902?

So someone made a copy of the update and made it available to others.

I wanted to ask about how to do this because unlike just flashing a ROM, this can change the radio and other things, and I don't want to mess it up.

I'm on 893 rooted with Eclipse ROM. Think I'd have to restore my stock ROM backup because I hear the update will check for all the bloatware and everything to not be frozen or removed.

Load stock backup, flash zip from SD card, is that it?

Is it a bad idea to do this? Will custom ROMs need to be updated by the devs now? Aka stuck on stock if you want 902 for now?

I would wait for the developers to look at it first before doing anything. Where is the download?

Can Bootstrap recovery be used to apply the update? Every site I go to provides instructions for using stock recovery.

Pretty sure you must use stock recovery. I have seen posts from people who tried using ClockWorkMod and it failed.

Keep in mind, unlike with the OG Droid, even if you installed Bootstrap or Safestrap you can still access the stock recovery. Just power off, then power on while holding both volume up and down simultaneously. Press volume down to highlight Recovery, then volume up to select. Then press volume up and down again at the ! screen to access the menu. From there it's volume keys to move, power button to select.

I was about to do that. Before starting the process, I checked to see if an update was available an it was. It installed without a hitch. 4G signal has been noticeably better...

I can uninstall the 902 file on my SD card.
