Root Flashing a rom without sbf?

ok i just flashed the SSM-v3 earlier and i was wondering if i wanted to go to another rom like Apex can i just factory reset/data wipe and wipe cache and then install my new rom? or do i HAVE to go through sbf my phone and then flash rom from there?

As long as the new rom is based off of the same build and kernel you shouldn't have to sbf. Most are at .602 builds now with the .13 kernel. Definitely make sure you wipe and don't restore any system apps if you use one of the methods to backup apps. I went from SSM - stock - Miui - CM7 without an SBF!

one more question, when the .602 file is still zipped how big is it? and how big is it after being zipped?

if you are going from ssm v3 to apex, all you need to do is data wipe, you have to make sure your on the GB kernel, and you are so you will be fine
