Some need an older Hboot, some need a newer, red the descrioption. If it needs newer it will say so, otherwise youw ill have to downgrade. Remember, MMS will not work and neither will Visual Voicemail.
To get VVM working you need the APK from stock and to change the buildprop device ID to match the Evo V. MMS is WAAAY more complicated and often not possible.
Radios, PRI and PRI don't matter for roms, usually. Some do prefer certain radios, but should work.

The kernel that comes with the rom will work fine.
Would you mind pointing out a thread that explains the mms fix, even if it may/may not work? I'm having a hard time searching for the solution. Thanks in advance!

MMS depends on the rom.
If you use a stock Sense 3.6 rom, it may work just changing build.prop.
CM7, CM9, the method below works sometimes.
Anything else, more than likely forget it. Even if it works, it can become unstable.

What is our build prop device I'd? Do you have the vvm apk I will need?

The device ID (in build prop) and vvm APK is in most of the Evo V stock based roms.
