Help flashing microSD card.

Hi all,

I own a Google Nexus One, which I messed up the OS whilst travelling. From memory, it was updating to a new version, and the battery died during flashing. Should really have had it on mains, but didnt think haha

Now, I have plugged the microSD into a USB adapter and copied all my photos and data off, but was wondering how I would go about installing a fresh stock ROM without needing to boot the phone. I assumed it would be easy, but all the tutorials i've found are like Download And Install Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread (GRK39F) On Nexus One [How To Tutorial] | Redmond Pie

If anyone could give me advice that would be great. I would prefer a stock ROM, but not adverse to going custom if its easier to do

Cheers
Nathan

That method only involves booting into recovery, so as long as your recovery is intact it will work even if the android system is toast, and most updates won't have affected recovery.

With HTC phones there is a way of loading an update via the bootloader, so I guess the N1 will be similar. However, details of the procedure (the file name you need) vary between models, and I don't know this for the N1. I'll move the thread to the N1 forum and see whether anyone there knows better. Worst comes to the worst you can try fastboot flashing a system image (a procedure for updating over usb while the phone is in the bootloader), but again you need someone who knows the phone to advise. So the N1 forum is the best place to ask.
