Root Flashing SuperSu in recovery?

Deadux

Lurker
This is my first time rooting (it's been tough). I got up to the point where I copied SuperSu to the internal storage and then booted into recovery, now I don't know what to do. I'm supposed to flash it or something like that but I don't know how. Please help

You navigate with your up and down volume buttons you press power key to accept then find where you put supersu file and then press on it so press power button and then go to down to install or something like then then go down to yes and then it should start doing it.

Are you flashing the superuser binary (su.zip) or the actual SuperSU app? Cuz you can get the latter from the Play Store and use it to update the su binary if your root method didn't apply the latest.

Different custom recoveries can vary slightly but in general there's an option to install (or install zip) which will bring up a file explorer. You then navigate to the location where your su.zip is at, select it, and flash.

OK, so I did everything right I pressed recovery but my phone just reboots. I suspect I might have the wrong TWRP file. I checked on their website, there's only one and it's the USA model but I'm using the EU model. But there's only one img for the Desire 510! So what can I do now?

Do you mean you are in a constant boot loop where you can't access the phone normally? Or are you saying it rebooted to system and your phone booted as usual into the OS?

It seems likely that if you had a working GUI in recovery and it proceeded to flash the su.zip that the recovery was working. I suppose that's no guarantee, but more likely if you flash a wrong recovery, it won't even boot to it in the first place.

Im in the EU and i rooted my old phone about a month back if i still had it which i don't coz it got stolen i would tell you everything ;)

I followed the steps in this video with some variation with twrp.img files
When I press power and enter recovery the phone just restarts normally. So I haven't even touched anything to do with recovery yet.
