Root Flashing With other Roms..

okay just for kicks i tried flashing my optimus m with a optimus v custom firmware BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme and it loads up.. saying welcome to LG-VM670 okay.. but the screen doesnt work.. anyway that i can accomplish this??
