Flight tracking apps?

Gomtu

Newbie
So I drive for an airport service, and naturally I wanted an app that would track flights. I was told to get Flightradar24, and so I tried to get it. On my phone with a solid WiFi connection I was denied access to the website all day, it just kept saying it was unavailable. Okay, I come home to get it on my Mac, and installed the free version, which never shows up on my phone. Googleplay SAYS its installed, but it's not there.

Next I buy the Pro version, and it's the same story, Googleplay says it's installed, but it's not there, anywhere on my phone. So I try to write their support at the address on their page, it bounces with a delivery failure. I try to write their company, same thing. Well I don't know what the deal is with this app and company, but long story short, don't buy it, and don't bother with it, unless you crave being ripped off and frustrated.

Having been through a fruitless hassle with Flightradar24, and not wanting to go through that again, I'm looking for a flight tracking app that is actually supported, and doesn't blast you with ads after you pay for it. I've become pretty gun-shy in this. Everything I've installed and tried to use is quite unusable because of the ads it's stuffed full of, and how do I know that after I pay for it they won't still do that?

I installed RadarBox24, and tried to run it, but couldn't see how it worked around all the ads it shoved in my face. Everything I tried to do with it got me an ad instead of what I wanted it to do. So I just deleted it. I don't see how they expect to sell an app when they won't even let you see it work and instead shove ads in your face until you give up in frustration and delete it, or with everything you try to do hassle you about upgrading to Pro?

I want an app that shows me where the flights are, when they are due to arrive, and other information, and from a company I can actually contact about any problems or questions I might have. With Flightradar24 both their support email address and company address bounce my emails as undeliverable, which I find unacceptable.

I'm happy to pay for an app, as long as I get what I'm paying for, without being deluged with ads that make the app unusable. Instead of doing that, why don't they just do a trial version that expires after a certain time?

If your phone has a removable battery, take it out for at least 60 seconds. If it has a power reset do that. Mysteriously missing apps usually appear correctly after that. Very old school Android trick. ;)

Verify installation with the app manager from the main settings.

I use "FlightBoard" but I haven't had the troubles with it that some commenters have had -

It has a companion "FlightTrack 5" but I haven't tried it -

Presumably the OP is only servicing one or two airports, and needs to see arrivals and departures in real-time, with ETAs, delays, cancellations, etc,. Depending on what airport it is, but many airports actually have their own apps you can install that will do that, and/or they have mobile friendly websites, with the arrivals and departures boards on them.

For example, Beijing Capital Airport app, departures to Shanghai in real-time.
