Floating object during a call

Not so long ago, the following floating object began to appear during calls. When tapped, red dot turns into a green square, but nothing else appears to be happening. Any idea what it is and how to use it??

what phone do you have? was this after an update? do you have any custom dialer or launcher?

- Samsung Galaxy S8+
- Started noticing only a few weeks ago, possibly after an update.
- Use the native phone app. But i think it shows up during whatsapp calls too. I used CallU app before too, but that has its own floating button that i recognize

I thought so too, but when i click the button, where does the recording get saved? Can't really tell if anything happens when i press it 😕

I've never used one and don't have a Samsung so have no clue, it just looked like it may be that. Nothing in your app drawer or files anywhere?
