Help floundering with managing contacts on S7562 Duo

Hi all,
I have an S7562 Duo and I am very confused about how to manage the contacts on the two SIMs, the phone and google. I have managed to synch it with google but I can't get rid of (or hide) the contacts on the SIMs.

Regarding the contacts on the phone, I want to keep the latest synched google contacts on the phone, but the "conventional phone contacts memory" is of no interest to me... that too I want to just delete or hide.

I have tried three apps from Play Store to try and solve this: Contact Remover, SIM Manager and Duplicate Contacts... none seems to work properly and the SIM and/or "conventional" contacts on the phone keep coming back, e.g. when I switch on and off.

I have also tried switching on with just one of the SIMs... still no luck.

to anyone stumbling across this... I found out that it is possible to customise what contacts are displayed (for Samsung Galaxy S type phones anyway):

- press Contacts --> show menu

- choose "Contacts to display" (NB this may be out of sight initially: so scroll menu)
- at the bottom of that list press the gearwheel to the - right of "Customised list"
- in the next menu you can choose what is and isn't displayed.
