FM Radio Quality

Hi all,

I had upgraded to the One S (previous handset was a Desire Z).But one thing I've noticed, which was rather frustrating, is that the quality of the FM Radio was poor. The volume drops significantly when it has lower reception strength, but this is something that my Desire Z never did.

I use the FM Radio functionality a lot and I'm really upset that this is the one aspect that has let me down.

I'm considering getting the S3 instead. What are users' experience of the FM Radio reception quality?

Thanks!

The problem with FM radios is they are mainly only as good as the external antenna. Most headphone cables now are thin and along with their shielding wrap are pretty awful for antennas. Need to be fairly close to the signal area for decent reception.

The problem is that the FM Radio in my Desire Z is great. The one in my HTC One was, in contrast, very poor.

It's the inconsistency that makes me think the S3 is likely to be better than the HTC One S.

I also tried 3 different earphones with the phone, but that didn't help.
