fm radio

Hello, The built in fm radio in galaxy s2 is pretty bad. I can't seem to find a way to move to the next station. the only previous and next button are going to the next station found and not to the next stored station. is there a way to go to the next stored station or change the radio (I didn't saw any other app for this). thanks.

Just use the dial to move through the frequencies and when you have found one that you want to keep just press one of the + buttons for at least 3 seconds at the bottom of the screen to store it, you can store 10 stations.

You can also get the radio to do an auto scan by pressing the menu key and selecting scan, once the scan is complete you can then save the ones you want to keep.

In the settings menu you can also get the radio to show the station ID (RDS function), use an alternative frequency & auto off.

Hi the driver, thanks for the replay.

I know how to search and store. I wanted a readio player that I have a "next" button that cycle through the stored station.

The only thing I can think of is storing the stations then scrolling the stored locations across as required.

I've never really used the radio that much as I tend to use a pocket DAB radio.

Is there any radio app that uses phone radio hardware (not streaming from net), who could record radio?

Yes, it's called Spirit Radio in the Play Store. There is a religous app called the same thing, make sure you look at the right app. BTW, I use it all the time as the new AOKP roms don't have the radio app anymore.

Does the spirit app allow you to listen to radio other than the headphones? The stock FM app does not.

For example, I can use the stock Music Player on my S2, connect the HDMI adapter to the USB port, and listen to music through my TV. But the radio app does not do this, and this is why I would like to try Spirit... if it works.

Thanks.

The phone uses the earphone cable as the aerial (antenna) so you must have the headphone cable in to use the radio.

However what you can do is use a set old (broken) earphones, cut off the earphones and it will still use the cable as the antenna, you should then be able to use the speaker on the phone to listen to the radio.

The best solution is just to buy a cheap pocket radio which can be had for a few

An update folks. The stock radio app permits music to be played through the speakers via a toggle in the settings. Yes, the headphones need to be plugged in to act as the antenna.

But here's the kicker. The Galaxy S2 has HDMI output from the USB port with an adapter. When I plug the HDMI into my TV system, the Music app plays great... the music plays through the TV system.

But, when I switch to the Radio, and set it on speakers, it only plays through the speakers. In other words, the Radio app does not appear to support HDMI output.

Any alternatives? Does Spirit radio play through HDMI?

Thanks.
