Help Folders and files not showing?

In my HTC One X...can anyone explain why pic folders in my memory that used to show in gallery, now don't?
And ringtones on card now can't be found thru personalise?
Related issues i think?

Have you just had a system update?

Does the SD card show a msg of format or errors

Sorry re double post...11 mins apart, didn't do that and don't know how it happened!

Anyway...no recent system update and none available, and have just re-booted (which i may have done recently since this issue arose), bu has made no difference!???

No SD errors that I know of....where would I look?

Are you rooted or can you see anything on your SD card

I am not rooted, and can see everything using a file explorer (Androzip).

Do you see a folder with DCMI . if not go to the camera and take 3photos . and then do the same for the video . go back and check the system SD card and the device external SD card for that folder name DCMI.

Yes, I see DCIM (is thisa not the correct spelling?) and can still see my camera photos in gallery. NOt sure wht you mean by looking for this on both SD cards?
My own folders that I can't view within gallery are in same file loaction as DCIM folder!?

I have upgraded to new HTC One M8, and issue with archived folders remains...have to access a picture at a time...using a file explorer rather than viewing in gallery like before....must be something to do with an android update!
