I email HTC to ask if us Incredible owners will get a software update for 780p video recording and this is what they emailed me back:

Hello Craig, I understand your interest in the 780p video capabilities. At this time, we do not have any information whatsoever as to whether or not the Incredible will be receiving an update that updates the video standard on the device. Nothing has been announced yet regarding an update that will do this, but neither has it been ruled out.
