For people considering this phone - get something else

i will say this, i am going to root my phone as soon as i can b/c honestly i CAN NOT take the constand laggin' i encounter w/ this phone, it's VERY frustrating to the point that i want to throw my phone. i'm hoping w/ rooting my phone this will resolve the laggin' (esp loading facebook or playing vids from youtube) issue along w/ a few other thing ie battery life just to name 1. i had a Hero before the tracker ball stop working on me & i was giving a Transform as a replacement, & i pretty got what a wanted a phone that was a slider that i could use 'til my full upgrade in October gets here. i can almost assure you when that time comes i will be going back to HTC. definitely better made phones IMO.

Just a few tips that seems to have helped my Samsung Transform in this week long journey of forums... *note: i have not rooted. i am on 2.2 on basic launcher (now) and removed all my widges (for now)

-clear all caches in all apps (perhaps there are some that should have been kept, maybe someone will chime in, but in my frustration cleared them all)
-remove any fishy apps
-uninstall any apps that boot on startup
-moved any music, photo, game apps to sd card that would let me
-to stop seemingly pointless vibrations go to Animations in Settings->Display->Aimations to "No Animations"
-go to the browser app, hit Menu->More->Settings and clear Cache, History, Cookie Data and Form Data."Accept cookies" and "Remember form data" should be checked. Similarly, you may have to clear your call logs and SMS history logs from time to time if there seems to be a lot of data
-if running a FB widget, try launching the Facebook app from a shortcut icon instead.
-i changed my synch on FB and gmail to 1hr intervals and this helped tremendously!
-<back> key instead of hitting home (i knew this but some may not, it turns off most apps instead of home key leaving app multi-tasked in background)

I really hope this helps someone else, kind of a "pay it forward". Extra special thanks to rbasusparky for helping me get here. My phone was painfully slow and I had read so many forums but still had little success. If you would like to read the thread on us arriving at these solutions check out
