I got the "conversation" message you sent me, but, can't figure out how to reply to you from there, so, that's why I'm making this.

You said something about "earn points" by doing various things. I don't know what you mean, but, I'm here for no reason other than to simply get tips and some advice now and then for my phone when I need it. I don't care about, nor do I need, any "points" or whatever else. I'm also not at all worried about seeing less ads. The amount of ads on here don't bother me. No reason to sign up as VIP. Slow down, man. I ain't here for all that. Just simply to get advice and answers when I need them. That's all.

Rob's the owner and he's probably never going to see this, so I'll reply. :)

The message you received was simply an automatic reply to your registration as a member with some links to get you started and yes, letting you know that we welcome donations - and thanking you for joining as I recall.

Now if that offended you, I'm sorry.

We're the oldest and largest Android-specific site and we have over a million members that we extend a lot of free bandwidth to and staff to help - if a "donations welcome" deal was just that much of hard sell to you, I don't know what else to say except -

Welcome to the forums! :)

Offended me? LOL.. Boy, I don't know what it is with the internet and people exaggerating, but, the 2 seem to go hand in hand. LOL, I wasn't and haven't been offended by anything. I was just pointing out that I don't care anything about "points" or VIP memberships or anything else. It just seems that nowadays, you can't do anything without getting bombarded with stuff you have no interest in, that's all. You know, it's like when you go buy a car and you tell the salesman straight up, "all I want is this kind of car, with these features" and then the guy keeps trying to sell you stuff you don't want and don't need. I just think people get a little over-excited at times..

There's no reason why we shouldn't. YOU sure seem to have a chip on your shoulder, though. Honesty must offend you
