There's more than a few of us on here who switched their plans last year during a special promotion where we received a $20 credit each month for our unlimited data plans. We were told this was a lifetime promotion as long as we did not initiate a change to our contracts. My conditions were that I had to keep my 1400 minute plan and add data to 2 of the 5 lines that were not yet on smartphones. This was back last January. Back then, our biggest question was would we keep that when things changed to 4G, which turned out we would. I've since upgraded all 5 lines and the promotion carried over with no issue.
But now we have the Share Everything Plan impending, and we'll all need to get new phones at some point. What has me most worried is losing this special promotion, as we already know we'll be forced to change our plans if we wish to keep getting our phones at subsidized pricing. We're meeting the terms of our lifetime promotion, but now we're going to be asked to pay more for our phones in order to keep it. This has to be some kind of a breech of contract, right?
Truth is, it's probably not. Even though we will not be the ones to initiate the change, we will be accepting the terms of the new contract, therefore we're the ones making the change, so they have an out.
Has anyone with this promotion called VZW to see if we will be offered ANYTHING for this? It's not fair that the reward for my loyalty for retaining my being Verizon's customer is to pay double or triple the price for a phone, or paying a $100 more on my bill every month for less service.
